Initially I thought this would be an easy post. Obviously Google searching ‘green carpets’ returns an understandable variety of green coloured carpets. There seems to be very few flooring products or companies offering a ‘green solution’ to flooring.
Perhaps the full green brigade wear thicker socks to keep their feet warm in their eco friendly houses. Joking aside, I’d like to offer as many eco solutions as possible.
The Alternative Flooring Company has an Eco Collection called Nature and Nurture, “Carpet with a Conscience….100% natural wool carpets”
The product has been tested for levels of harmful substances and has been accredited with the Oeko-tex 100 certification. This certification means their product has been ‘tested for harmful substances which are prohibited or regulated by law, chemicals which are known to be harmful to health, and parameters which are included as a precautionary measure to safeguard health’.
