Hans Wegner Butterfly Easy Chair
Danish designer Hans Wegner once philosophised that "A chair should
have no rear view. It should be beautiful from all sides and angles."
and this ideology is apparent in every inch of his 'Butterfly' easy
chair, which was originally penned in 1975 and is now exclusive to John
Lewis. Far from relying on looks alone though, the proof of Butterfly's
quality is in the sitting. Through a process of simplification and
purification, the resultant curves and acute angles put all focus on the
user to offer extremely comfortable use, even over long periods of use.
